Writing and editing

In addition to the Asian Review of Books, which he edits, Peter Gordon’s commentary and feature writing has appeared in the South China Morning Post, China Daily, the Diplomat, Caixin, the Nikkei Asia Review, the Los Angeles Review of Books and other publications. He is the co-author of The Silver Way: China, Spanish America and the Birth of Globalisation, 1565–1815 (Penguin).

The Writers Bootcamp, a series of programmes to help writers craft their work for publication, whether as commentary or longer works, is run together with writer and journalist Melanie Ho, former chair of the Hong Kong Writers Circle.
